One of the worst nights ever!

To understand the point of this post I should put up a bit of a life update - My husband got a big promotion ....to manage a mill in a rural community. Given my dad's illness, my older son's therapies, and my natural aversion to "rural" we decided that it would be in our families best interest for us to keep our house in the urban area and buy a smaller house near the mill.

We found a 1000 sq. ft. house in "town" and bought it. That's the advantage of living within our means. This past Monday we closed on the house and moved our stuff in. And then came Tuesday night when we started living in it....oh. my. g-d.

I tried to vacuum the room where the owner's son smoked so much pot that I got a contact high while viewing the house. After 2 minutes of sucking up stems the vacuum cleaner made a popping sound, everything in the house that was electrical went off, and the cord blew off of the plug. We changed the fuse and went on.

I tried to plug in my laptop and got shocked (different outlet). The brand new microwave only had two buttons that worked; '5' and 'start'. I tried to look up Wal Mart's phone number in the phone book that we took from the hotel...and the page with Wal Mart's phone number was missing.

My husband says that the only really bad things were the vacuum cleaner blowing up and me getting shocked. Everything else was just icing...with worms in it.

Needless to say we need to update the electrical

OK, I found your blog randomly, but we live in your counterpart, just bigger with more outlets to f-up. We don't have an urban house to break the f-up cycles, we just get this. Anyway, I laughed at your previous post about the lovely grandparents. They look like half the people in small town Indiana, and the $100 thing caused me to lose it. Nice.
